School Social Work Psychological Counseling Psychological Counseling is provided on a weekly basis to all students attending the Interim Health Academy. Young Mothers who receive Special Education services or who need acute support also receive psychological counseling services. Counseling combines a variety of therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention to support students and to provide them with opportunities to develop and apply coping strategies for success both in school and out. The School Social Worker also works closely with community agencies to carry over treatment and enhance students’ coping goals.
