School No. 19 has several Clubs for students to join.
The following clubs are available:
Students in grades K through 8th will have opportunity to be elected to student council. They will represent their grades to help plan and present school SOAR events. Middle School students have the opportunity to run for student council officer positions.
Students in Kindergarten through 8th grade will have opportunity to be join the school's STEP team. Stepping or step-dancing is a form of percussion dance in
which the participant’s entire body is used as an instrument to produce complex
rhythms and sounds through a mixture of footsteps, spoke word, and hand
Students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade will have opportunity to join the Rochester Area Student Association to make connections with other youths in the community.
Students in 4th through 8th grades will have opportunity to join the school's LEGO league. This club provides students with the opportunity to work collaboratively with their peers to build a robotic apparatus and compete with other teams in the community.
Students in grades 3 through 8th will have opportunity to join the storytelling club. Starting in November students will begin learning to tell a fairy tale, folktale, myth, legend, fable, or tall tale. Students will compete in a building competition in February where the winner of each grade level will have the chance to go on to the district competition in March!
STRINGS FOR SUCCESS
Students in 3rd through 8th grades will have opportunity to participate in the school's string ensemble. Strings for Success provides students with the opportunity to learn how to play a violin and perform at multiple events throughout the community.
I AM MY SISTER'S KEEPER
This club is for female students in 4th through 8th grade. The club provides the opportunity for young ladies to connect and discuss issues relevant to them.
Students in Kindergarten through 8th grade may join the gospel choir to share with others their love of singing.
