NEWS

  • Padilla families and community,

On Tuesday, May 20, Padilla High School will host a prom-safety crash reenactment in the Kilmar Street parking lot. The demonstration will feature police cruisers, ambulances, a hearse, and other EMS personnel.

Please be assured that this is a staged educational event—not a real emergency—designed to promote safe decision-making during prom season. We hope that all Padilla students will benefit from this powerful exercise.

Regents Communications to High School Students

Attention all high school students! Here is what you need to know about school on Tuesday, June 10, and Wednesday, June 11.

Tuesday, June 10, is a Regents Exam Day at all RCSD high schools. Only students taking one of the scheduled Regents exams need to come to school that day.

If you are not taking a Regents exam, you are still welcome to come in for academic support. Your school may offer things like:

    • Marking period recovery
    • Targeted tutoring
    • Regents exam prep
    • Online course recovery
    • Other academic support sessions

These opportunities are a great way to stay on track, so take advantage if you can! Check with your school counselor on what is specifically being offered at your school.

Wednesday, June 11, is a regular school day for everyone. If you are taking the New Geometry Regents in the morning, you will head to your regular classes once you are done with the test.

For more info, including the full Regents schedule, visit: www.rcsdk12.org/2025regents. If you have any questions, reach out to your teachers or school counselor.

Good luck to everyone taking exams! Relax and do your best—you’ve got this!

New Operational Changes Effective April 21

As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining a positive and focused learning environment, we want to send out following operational reminders as we will do a re-set on April 21st. These measures address items that have recently caused disruptions in the educational process.

    1. Collection of Electronic Devices at the Door
      • Apple Watches and other smartwatch devices
      • iPads
      • Any electronic device capable of external communication (unless used for disability-related purposes)
    2. Prohibited Items
      • Glass bottles of perfume or other fragrances (These will be held and returned on a first-offense warning.)
      • OPEN containers such as drinks from stores or restaurants
      • Mugs or similar containers must be empty upon entering the school

We appreciate your support in helping us maintain a safe and productive atmosphere for all students. If you have any questions or concerns about these guidelines, please feel free to contact the school office at 585-467-3131.

    Thank you for your cooperation.

    Adam Rodger,
Acting Principal for Padilla High School
